Hiya,
I’m super excited to have you here. With this being my first post, I’ll try not to scare you away with an epistle.
The months leading up to this year left me in a state of deep confusion over God’s plan for my life. I knew what God has planned for me and what His promise over my life is, but the path I was on seemed very 'unlinked' to my destiny and with each coming day came a new level of confusion.
Scriptures such as Jeremiah 29:11 assures us that He has good plans for us, also Philippians 1:6 also says that those good plans that He starts will surely be seen to the end and Numbers 23:19 reminds us that because He is God, His promises shall not go unfulfilled. These are scriptures that have always been a pillar for me, but in these trying times, I felt so unsure of where I was supposed to be. They made things look easy, simple and straight forward. Find the promise, declare it upon your life, take a comfortable seat, watch things happen and it shall be so, piece of cake, well not always.
Most of the time when God gives us a promise, there are instructions or conditions attached.
Deuteronomy 28:1-14 is God’s blessings and promises to the Israelites which was dependent on their obedience to His commands (verse 1).
God also promised David and his descendants the throne (2 Samuel 7:11-16), however Solomon disobeyed God when He took foreign wives and offered sacrifices to their gods and this angered God and caused Him to strip the kingdom away from Solomon’s descendants (1 Kings 11:11-13).
For someone here today, you have that promise and you are declaring it boldly upon your life, but God wants you to be sensitive to His instructions and commands which are a huge part of your promise, it could delay or terminate your promise. The truth is I was so focused on the glory days of the promise I had seen that I neglected the necessary sacrifices. Some of us have narrowly missed our promises due to disobedience, the seventh wash in the river that we failed to take (2 Kings 5:10,14), the kind words we failed to give, the testimony we chose to keep to ourselves, the seeds we failed to sow.
While on the journey to your promise it is also important to note that the journey is part of the promise, the good, the bad, the ugly you encounter is all part of the promise. Just like Joseph went through all that he did because of his dream (Genesis 37), so also you will be faced with trials. But Joseph endured through all and excelled in every level he found himself, he sought the face of God and didn’t stray from the ways of God.

I just want to encourage you today, you may currently be doing all that you feel you are supposed to and still feel like the world is against you, believe me, He that is in you is greater and every stumbling block is a stepping stone to the next level of victory. Joseph’s brothers sold him thinking that would halt destiny, little did they know that they had just propelled him a step further to where he was supposed to be. Do not be discouraged by the journey.
Imagine a woman desiring the fruit of the womb being told that she would finally have a child, the excitement, the exhilaration, a dream come true, a child to behold. But of course being pregnant doesn’t come without its pains, the morning sickness, pain, weakness, nausea, swollen extremities, and many more. But there is always an endurance through these pains, because her eyes are set on the ultimate goal, holding that beautiful bundle of joy. Set your gaze upon the promise, make the necessary sacrifices, endure and grow through the struggles and trust in the certainty of His word.
Some of us are on the journey to God’s promised destination for us, we are on track with our instructions but still battle doubt daily, but surely His words will not pass away, Luke 21 :33. Let this be a daily reminder to yourself, the journey to the promise is part of the promise, His word cannot fail. God said it, I believe it and that settles it.
It is my earnest prayer that you overcome whatever you are struggling with today as you walk in line with God’s will for your life, the grace of God shall come mightily upon you and give you the strength to endure and receive the blessings from this season in your life. He will make you sensitive and receptive to His instructions. As you walk with the Lord, He will make way for you in great places, Amen.
Do have a lovely day and a blessed week.
